According to the International Labor Organization, it is estimated that 317 million people are victims of work accidents and more than 2.3 million people die each year from accidents or occupational diseases, which is equivalent to saying that every 15 seconds a person dies in their work site or 6,300 occur per day.  In Colombia, mining is the economic activity with the highest labor risk, because it has higher death rates and illegality figures close to 66%, and that for 2017 there were 94 Emergencies and 106 Fatalities according to the National Agency of Mining. More than 60% of accidents in mining occur in coal and landslides cause 32%.
